"The Summer I Couldn't Do Better" is a compilation album including 11 singles released by German singer-songwriter Kim Petras throughout 2017 and early-2019. Originally believed to be a part of her debut studio album, the tracks have not been included in one formal body of work until it was released after the success of "Can't Do Better". Petras formally announced the end of "Era 1" on February 6, 2019. In August of 2017, Petras released her debut single, "I Don't Want It At All", the first song from the collection. The track was released independently and was a moderate commercial
