What Forktone is

Forktone is a music discovery tool that aggregates publicly available data from open music databases including MusicBrainz, Last.fm, TheAudioDB, Deezer, and Discogs. It does not require an account or login to use.

Data we collect

Forktone does not collect personal data from visitors. There are no accounts, no tracking cookies, and no analytics beyond what Vercel (our hosting provider) logs by default (standard server access logs: IP address, page path, timestamp). These logs are not shared or sold and are retained according to Vercel's privacy policy.

Third-party content

Artist images, audio previews, and metadata are served from or proxied from third-party APIs. Those services have their own privacy policies:

• MusicBrainz
• Last.fm
• Deezer
• Discogs

Audio previews

30-second audio previews are sourced from Deezer's public API. Forktone does not host or redistribute audio files — preview URLs are served directly by Deezer.

Content removal (DMCA)

Forktone displays publicly available data aggregated from third-party open databases. If you believe content displayed on Forktone infringes your copyright, please email hello@forktone.com with “DMCA” in the subject line. Include a description of the content, its location on the site, and your contact information. We aim to respond within 48 hours.

Note: because Forktone pulls data from upstream databases (MusicBrainz, Last.fm, etc.), the most effective way to correct or remove information is to update it at the source. See the For Artists page for instructions.
