Andrea Motis, born May 9, 1995 in Barcelona, is a singer, saxophonist and Spanish jazz trumpet player. Biography : Coming from a family of musicians with her father playing the trumpet, she is musically trained on the trumpet then on the saxophone, from 7 years old in the municipal school of music of Sant Andreu, a suburb of Barcelona. In 2007, at just 12 years old, she began collaborating with the jazz Sant Andreu Jazz Band, led by music teacher and musician Joan Chamorro. His voice has been compared to that of Norah Jones. In 2010, at only 15 years as a solo singer, she recorded an album of jazz standards entitled Joan Chamorro presents Andrea Motis. She is the revelation of the 2012 Barcelona Jazz Festival, where Quincy Jones himself brought her on stage to rave about her talent.
