There are at least eight music artists known by the name Arabesque: 1) Arabesque was a German disco group formed in 1977. The group's most recognized lineup included Sandra Ann Lauer (who joined in 1979), Jasmin Vetter, and Michaela Rose. Following their split in 1984, Vetter and Rose continued under the name "Rouge," while Sandra began a solo career that achieved international success. Arabesque gained popularity in Japan, selling over six million albums, and also had a following in the USSR.
