The Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO), formed in 1979, is a professional orchestra with 96 musicians. Its current Music Director is Lan Shui. The performing choir of the SSO is the Singapore Symphony Chorus directed by the SSO's Resident Conductor Lim Yau. The orchestra's current principal guest conductor is Okko Kamu. Victoria Concert Hall was the home of the SSO until 2002 when the orchestra moved to the new Esplanade Concert Hall. The SSO performs over 50 symphonic concerts a year.
