About

Saosin Is an American rock band originally from Newport Beach, California. Their name means “caution” in Chinese and comes from a 15th century proverb about fathers admonishing their sons who are being married off for money to not get emotionally involved with their wives, as they could die at any time. The band was formed in 2003 and recorded its first EP, “Translating the Name,” that same year with original singer Anthony Green. Green left Saosin following the band's decision to sign with a major label, Capitol Records. Vocalist Cove Reber took over as frontman as the band recorded its self titled debut album. Released in 2006, the album reached #22 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. The single, “Voices,” was a success, reaching #25 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. Saosin’s second studio album, “In Search of Solid Ground,” was released in 2009 on Virgin Records. It went to #19 on the Billboard 200 and #4 on the Alternative Albums chart. The songs “On My Own” and “Is This Real” were released as singles.
