Deutsche Grammophon’s Avantgarde series (1968–1971) was an ambitious venture to present contemporary composers of the time. 24 albums were released and 50 years later the series is still an unsurpassed collection of iconic 20th century music, remembered for its impressive scope and meticulous production as well as its particularly colourful sleeves, created by renowned graphic designer Holger Matthies. This is a DG series, not a label on its own. Only add it in series field, together with the actual label of the release.
