CD Baby

Online distributor of independent music based out of Portland, Oregon, USA, established in 1998. Initially offering distribution for artists in physical and online format, it discontinued physical sales on March 31, 2020. It continued to offer fulfillment services for artists who sold physical media through outlets such as Amazon Marketplace and Alliance, but it discontinued this service in June 2023 and now offers online distribution only. CD Baby is mainly a distributor (and manufacturer) for independent artists. Only in some rare cases CD Baby is a label. Do not use "CD Baby" as a label, unless there is a "cdb" prefix in the catalog number. In all other occasions, use whatever "label" information is provided via the artwork of the release. If there is no proper label, use Not On Label (Artistname Self-released). You may, however, add CD Baby as a distributor in the "Label, Company, Catalog Number etc" section by assigning the "Distributed By" role. Your entry will then appear under "Companies etc" between the Tracklist and the Notes.
