Drawing Room Records

Drawing Room Records was started by Jeff Kuykendall in 1997 in Little Rock, Arkansas, where it was based and continued through 2003. Earlier releases were predominantly from Arkansas (and Texas) based bands with a focus on the then current popular teenage strains of indie and emo. Individual artists and participants from these earlier releases have gone on to many different projects, most notably !!!, The Body, Express Rising, American Princes, and The RVNG label. In 2011, after an eight year hiatus, the label was resurrected by Jeff in a new location, Brooklyn, New York. Presently, the label focuses on experimental and out-sider sounds with a twisted take on pop and rock thrown in for good measure. Doormat Records, which has a focus on heavier rock and punk, is its forever brother/sister label. Note: For the early Draw # Series, there is no Draw 4, as that album has yet to be formally released. For the DR0000 # Series. Both Brad Laner and 500mg are DR00005. Brad Laner was supposed to be DR00006, but the label made a goof.
