Mr Bongo

British label founded in 1989. Originally a record shop of the same name located on Berwick Street in Soho, London. Over the next few years, Mr Bongo moved three times in Soho and opened an outlet in Shibuya, Japan. The label's office moved to Brighton in 1999 and the London and Shibuya shops were closed in 2003; a new shop opened in Brighton in 2016. In 2004 the label moved into films and founded a publishing division that produces and licenses music for use by third parties. Previous copyright companies: Mr Bongo Music (1996) and Mr Bongo Recordings (2000 to 2009). Label Code 12527
