Nice Price

Please check for multiple indicators of Nice Price (inner sleeve/sticker/catalog numbers/advertisement/price codes etc.) before adding the release here. The inventory numbers appearing on Nice Price stickers or inner sleeves should not be entered as catalog numbers as they are not unique to the release. On April 2nd 1981, CBS Records launched the "Nice Price" series of back catalogue albums in the UK. The first European Nice Price releases (1981–1984) on LP were issued with sunburst center labels. From 1985, center labels were red. From 1985 to 1990 at least 3 variants of 'Nice Price' inner sleeves were in manufactured: Var. 1 (1985-1987): black background, advertised albums without catalog numbers Var. 2 (1987-1989): black background, advertised albums with catalog numbers Var. 3 (1989-1990): white background Initially this series had a unique catalogue number string: 32001 to 328xx. Later releases often had a CBS/Sony Music inventory number with a 02-prefix, e.g. 02-471956-10 Label prefix on LPs: CBS or S CBS, EPC (Epic), PRT (Portrait), JET (JET Records), SKY (Blue Sky). Prefix on Cassettes: 40-. For CBS/Sony Japanese releases with cat# prefix CSCS please use CBS Nice Price Line. A&M Records were catalogued differently within the Nice Price series: LPs: AMNP 1xx Cassettes: CNP 1xx All releases in this series were Reissues. Some CDs were issued in a jewel-case with a red tray.
