Sonocord

German club label. Label Code LC 4240 / LC 04240. This label came from Deutscher Schallplattenclub, which was a subsidiary of German book club Bücherbund, formerly known as Deutscher Bücherbund. Music club which released exclusive compilations since the 1970's. Most popular for their "Hitbreaker" series which comes each three months (four issues per year). Table for the "Hitbreaker" release periods: 1st issue - december of the bygone year 2nd issue - march 3rd issue - june 4th issue - september Book club editions from 'Bücherbund' in connection with 'Sonocord' often had 'Sonderauflage Sonocord' printed on labels and were sold exclusively in 'Bücherbund'-shops.
